Default Blanco County: Tom Welling Production (USA)

During the USA upfronts presentation it has been revealed Tom Welling will be producing a new TV series. This time it's for the cable network USA. Here is the official description:
Quote:
BLANCO COUNTY – Based on a series of books by Ben Rehder, BLANCO COUNTY follows the story of John Marlin, a worldly pro baseball player who would rather spend his down time traveling the world than return to his small Texas hometown. After the death of his father, Marlin returns home to find a lot has changed since he left. The place is now booming with rich ranchers and tourists and there's an uneasy alliance between the locals and the nouveau rich. Believing the local cops to be inept, Marlin runs for sheriff and surprisingly wins. A man who spent his entire life running away from his roots must now adapt to a new way of life. From Tom Welling Productions and Rob Thomas Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television, BLANCO COUNTY is written by Rob Thomas (“Veronica Mars”) and executive produced by Thomas, Tom Welling, Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge.

The project is still in developement which could go down caused by the fact of excitment. Though, I wouldn't be suprised if USA will pick it up for series. Fun fact, as busy as Tom is at the moment (two movies, one series) he never was.

I think the pick up is pretty much a given, first aside Tom, Rob Thomas is a powerhouse on TV (just see Veronica Mars) so that alone give s pretty good chance and as it was said on twitter: They don't do a lot of new shows. So don't be surprised if 90% of the series pitched are picked up

But Parkland is done, so he has only two things to work on.

Veronica Mars was so good(why did u cancel it CW?) so the chances of this going to series is good IMO.
