James in Pocatello, Idaho: Smallville spoilers, please.
Doesn't it feel like yesterday Smallville premiered for the first time? Here we are eight years later, with the season nine premiere on Sept. 25. How time flies. But we've digressed. We watched the season premiere and must say a couple things: First of all, Team Smallville isn't messing around with the special effects. It looks like they pulled out all the stops (and the budget) on this sweet, first episode. Also, all of you Lois lovers will be happy to know Erica Durance (Lois Lane) is interwoven throughout many storylines and is front and center during most of the show. Set three weeks after the events of the finale, Clark (Tom Welling) is training to be Superman and is struggling with leaving his humanity behind. He's frustrated with his inability to fly, but is told by trainer Jor-El it's because, "You still see yourself as a human." Meanwhile Clark's relationship with Chloe (Allison Mack) is downright rocky, while he remains obsessed with Lois. Lois doesn't have a clue where she was for the last three weeks, but when she returns it's in the company of a freaky Kryptonic-ninja lady from the future who's out to get Clark. And watch out for Lois' scary dream sequence at the end of the episode: there's sex, sweat, blood and death.

I haven't been online much the last 4 months, so I'm not up to speed with all the spoilers and the discussion/speculation but could this "death" be from the Death of Superman since we know that Lois' dream sequences are actually events or memories of the future?

Clark's inability to fly due to him seeing himself as human is something that I was expecting. The reason that Kara, Brainiac, and Zor-El have flown is that they never saw themselves as human.

It's nice seeing that Lois is front and center, but I'm concerned that the season premiere may be Lois-centric than Clark-centric.

I think is more Lois -centric than Clark because if you see the promos there are a lot of scenes of Lois, in the train fighting, in the middle of the street calling the rbb, in the ring with oliver, with metallo and she mentions she was talking with chloe so there's scene too also the scene of her coming back to the daily planet.

It's not a good idea to start with a season premiere that may not be Clark centric. That could spell another problem throughout the season.

What Clark does in Savior:
-Trains with Jor-El at the Fortress of Solitude.
-Doesn't fly because he's seeing himself as human.
-Stands on the rooftop of a building.
-Rescues a train where he sees Lois for the first time in 3 weeks.
-Has a scene or two with Chloe.
-Shows up at Oliver's underground fight club.
-Battles Alia at the Kent Farm.
-Probably talks to Lois through the phone booth.
-Sex with Lois through her visions.

Sounds great . Glad to hear the budget went to the special effects, however; I hope they use what they have wisely throughout the season.

We are just three days from the season premiere, I can't wait for it. It seems that the season premiere will be a good episode if you look around the media reports from those who has seen the first two episodes.

I expected to see the reason for the flying problem which they choose. He has to accept/embrace his kryptonian side. But he should also have his humanity. To balance his idendities as Clark Kent (human), The Blur (superhero) and Kal-El (kryptontian) will make him Superman. From the spoilers we have it's also his story arc to balance those three sides from him.

The season premiere will be Clois center which means both together but also both on their own.

Blood will linked to Zod. In the episode stills, we saw blood on his chest. I guess it has something to do with him. About death, there are more options. It could refer to Clark about to die or because earth is about to destroy.

Don't forget the Twitter thing.

I like this line also: "Clark (Tom Welling) is training to be Superman and is struggling with leaving his humanity behind.". Definitively I can´t wait for watching this episode. About "Lois' scary dream": "there's sex, sweat, blood and death." It sound exciting.

Thanks, Carmen.
