Thanks to TV Guide Magazine.com we have the first look at season 9 and what better way to start than see the first still of Brian Austin Green as METALLO!!!

First Look at Smallville's Metallo

He was killed by a robotic assassin in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles last spring, and now Brian Austin Green is coming back to TV as a different kind of cyborg. In a two-episode arc on Smallville (beginning with the September 25 season premiere), Green plays John Corben, a new Daily Planet reporter who becomes the comic-book villain Metallo. In the aftermath of an accident, Corben is mysteriously outfitted with a heart made of kryptonite. Executive producer Kelly Souders won’t reveal the identity of his Frankenstein-esque savoir, but says Corben is turned into “a rough version of Metallo, a first attempt at the technology, and eventually he’ll get sleeker.” So might we see him again? “Well of course—it’s Smallville,” she says with a laugh. “We’re actually throwing some ideas around right now in the hopes that we might be able to bring him back for another episode.”

Brian as Metallo/John Corben looks just badass.

I can't wait to see him in motion.

Metallo is one of my favourite Superman's villians.

He looks good and realistic compared to the previous incarnations. I wouldn't be surprised if either Tess or Zod were the ones who did this to him or it could be Lex. I hope they do a great job with the fights between he and Clark.

In the Comic Con preview which we haven't yet (curse CW), you see that Tess is talking to a doctor about John's (Metallo) operation. So I'm sure that she is involved with that.

I know I cannot wait to see some Erica Durance/BAG scenes.

I haven't been this excited about SV in a while.
Brilliant casting choice for Brian Austin Green.

I'm wondering what the accident caused and if Kelly's statement 'and eventually he’ll get sleeker' means that if he will return after the second episode will have more cyborg elements.

I just noticed his left arm (from his pov) is already a cyborg arm.
