Flo in Los Angeles: Can you give more scoop on the Smallville finale death?

Just that there was a consensus in the comments section of our recent Smallville item about which character is dying, and it was not correct. That's all you'll get on that matter, but we will tease that executive producers Brian Peterson and Kelly Souders officially confirmed the return of Tom Welling and Erica Durance, so count them safe. Speaking of the finale, Cassidy Freeman says Tess Mercer is on the hunt for Davis, "Because I want Clark to accept the fact that he is Superman, and I don't think he can do that until he fights Doomsday." Throw down!

I think the consensus was either Chloe or Davis are dead, so one of them is safe. Obviously Chloe is safe, but I wonder if she means Davis because just about everyone assumes he is dying. I personally hope both survive because they are my only reasons for watching,

I think the ones who will die are Davis and Tess. Tess definitely knows too much about Clark that will not land her in the 9th season. If Chloe is safe, then she'd have to become Watchtower for the Justice League. However, if she is going to be Watchtower, there is no reason for her to be in every episode like Clark.
If anything, they may have changed the character deaths.

Thanks for posting! Tess is confusing. I see that she wants to help Clark but her methods are never that great. I would love to see how she would find Davis. You know, I had a thought: maybe she would have Chloe killed so that Davis emerges permanently as Doomsday and fights Clark. I see Tess doing that. She's like Lex. Always trying to get to the goal in the most extreme of ways.

Elsewhere, someone did a tally and Davis was # 1 choice for who was going to die, followed by Tess then Chloe and then Clark. Does that mean Davis is safe or maybe over at E! they can't count? I hope this means he is safe, considering Chloe is already pretty much for sure safe. That would be AWESOME!!!

I think I missed when it was confirmed Chloe was safe.

If the surway is right Davis MIGHT be the one surprisingly not dying, but that doesn't = Chloe is pretty much safe.

I think its between Tess and Chloe the second one dying, and since Tess is not a vet.......

I think Tess is leaving....Dinah kicks her butt out of Metropolis because nobody messes with Oliver

The interviewer was making a summary of last week's interview with Peterson and Souders. She's been wrong before and I wouldn't be surprised if she was wrong again this time. I think there will 2-3 deaths in the season finale. I'm glad that both Clark and Lois will be safe. Clark has already died back in Odyssey in Chloe's arms, so we're not going to see that again in the season finale. Lois was already dead back in Phantom.

As long as Clark and Lois make it out alive and into the 9th season, I'm basically happy. It looks like we're going to have Clark Vs. Doomsday and Lois Vs. Tess.

Ausiello has pretty much said Chloe isn't dying and I thought it was pretty strongly hinted at as well in the E! interview.

I do think Tess will be one of the deaths though.

Thanks gottara for posting that information from Episode Doomsday about Who will die!. Then Chloe won´t die. It´s great. And I´m glad that Clark and Lois will work again together. They will be saved.

If Chloe survives the season finale, it won't be smoothly. I can see her paralyzed like Oracle from the comics.

1) The Ausiello spoiler has never been fully solved and could go either way: NOT or NOW.

2) The E! interview with the showrunners was deliberately vague and hinted at both possibilities.

Nothing within there is remotely solid or any sort of absolute, that Chloe will make it. It could go either way at this point.

Clark and Lois won't die? Shocker. :p But I'm still not sure who will say goodbye. So close to the finale and we heard a lot of words about it but we still don't know who's gonna die.

I have to agree. Until Ausiello completes the spoiler puzzle, Chloe's fate is still uncertain. They're trying to cast doubts on the spoilers in their last ditch effort. Like I said before, they're teasing Chloe's fate with a couple of scenarios.

Honestly when I read through all of the comments the only clear consensus I came to was that there was a lot of hate towards ED.

Davis is going to become Doomsday so say good bye to SW, as for Chloe suffering the same fate as Barbara Gordon and the reason no one hears of Chloe Sullivan instead of Watchtower would make sense that she goes by that name, and I don't see her friendship with Clark surviving. So brace yourself for less Chloe working with Clark and more with JLA.
