Homeland: Renewal For Second Season

On the heels of HOMELAND’s biggest numbers yet, for this past Sunday’s airing, SHOWTIME has ordered a season two, consisting of 12 new one-hour episodes. The announcement was made today by David Nevins, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc. Developed for American television by executive producers Howard Gordon andAlex Gansa, HOMELAND stars Emmy^® Award winner Claire Danes, Golden Globe^® nominee Damian Lewis and Emmy and Tony^®Award winner Mandy Patinkin. HOMELAND debuted as the network’s highest-rated freshman drama series ever, generating 4.4 million viewers across platforms in its first week. The series has continued to increase overall viewership since its premiere, with its most recent episode delivering the series’ best ratings to-date this past Sunday. Season two will begin production in spring 2012.

Homeland is a one-hour drama series that tells the story of Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes), a CIA officer battling her own demons, who becomes convinced that the intelligence that led to the rescue of Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), a U.S. soldier who had been missing and presumed dead for eight years, was a setup and may be connected to an Al Qaeda plot to be carried out on American soil. The series also stars Morena Baccarin, David Harewood, Diego Klattenhoff, Morgan Saylor and Jackson Pace. HOMELAND is based on the original Israeli series “Prisoners of War,” by Gideon Raff. Along with Gordon and Gansa, the executive producers for season one are Avi Nir, Ran Telem, Gideon Raff and Michael Cuesta. The series is produced by FOX 21.

Man Of Steel: New Set Photos

New Girl: Scoop About Midseason

DevotedFansNetwork has learned some information about some upcoming episodes of FOX series New Girl. First of all, the episode titles for episode 9-11 are: Injured, Christmas and The Landlord. In addition to that some episode information.

1.09 Injured | The whole gang has to go to the hospital because Nick has an injury which happened during playing football with Jess. But the problem is Nick has no health insurgence. Winston and Schmidt go to a garage in order to fix Winston’s car. Winston tries to calm himself down after it seems his car is unfixable. There will be also a flashback with Winston and his car.

1.10 Christmas | Jess and Paul are giving some sweets from Jess’ candy cane caddy to the kids. She is talking about her Christmas traditions with her family. When a group of kids asked them if they are a couple, Jessie answers no but Paul says yes. Schmidt tries to motivate Winston to get a job.

1.11 The Landlord | The episode has a lot of flashbacks especially about Schmidt and a girl named Kim.

True Blood: Executive Producers Signs Two More Seasons

Deadline reports that True Blood executive producers and writers Alexander Woo, Raelle Tucker and Brian Buckner have each signed on for two more years with the series

They are back for a fifth season which got an order by HBO. Assuming the series gets a sixth season, they also will be back.

In addition to that. their deals also allow them to develop new projects for HBO.

Chuck: Last Big Threat Found

What is a season withóut a big bad guy especially if you are in the final season? NBC series Chuck has found its season baddie. He has some things in common with Chuck, but also completley different.

TVLine has learned Angus Macfayden will be the major villain in the series’s last year. Macfayden will play Nicholas Quinn, a former CIA agent who now runs a mercenary spy ring. He will be in the last four episodes of the series.

Macfayden is best known for his work in Braveheart but his TV credits includes series like Alias and Californiaction. Join us in our forums.

The CW: Unearthly & The Hollows

TheCW bought two projects from Carol Mendelson Productions Deadline reports. One named Unearthly and the other The Hollows. Both are book adaptions.

Unearthly is a supernatural drama based on the book by Cynthia Hand. The book is about Clara Gardner who has recently learned she’s part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn’t easy. Kevin Murphy who is known from his recent work Hellcats wrote the script. He and Robin Schorr are currently the executive producers.

The Hollows is based on the book series by Kim Harrison. The books are a series of mystery novels in an urban fantasy alternate history that take place primarily in the city of Cincinnati. The city itself is mostly separated in two parts: The main part of the town (usually called downtown) and the enclave on the opposite side of the Ohio River nicknamed “The Hollows”. Jordan Hawley who is best known for Smallville wrote the script and is also exceutive producer.
