Lady Gaga’s “Telephone” to Premiere on E! News

All of us little monsters have been anxiously awaiting Lady Gaga’s new video “Telephone,” and the wait is almost over. This Thursday, March 11, the nine-minute video will premiere on E! News at 11:30 p.m…. before it even hits MTV!
Now, “Telephone” has a lot to live up to after the iconic masterpiece that is “Bad Romance,” but the singer’s not alone in this. Beyoncé will be there, marking the second time the two have worked together (hopefully this time it’ll turn out better).
Inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s stylized violence, the video picks up where “Paparazzi” left off—Gaga in jail for poisoning her BF Alexander Skarsgård. Of course, he totally deserved it after pushing her off a balcony, but at least B is there to help her girl through this trying time.
All right, who’s excited? Think it can live up to “Bad Romance”?
Dracula Revival on Broadway

Dracula The Musical in the works
Since Twilight was released, followed by True Blood and The Vampire Diaries, vampires became not only the new black, but also the fastest way to get rich and famous in Hollywood. It was a matter of time for Broadway to get a piece of this money pie, as well.
The New Yor Post reported that there are plans to resurrect “Dracula,” the musical that was famously revived in 1977, with Frank Langella in the title role.
Two sets of producers have their eye on the show: one wants to do it off-Broadway in the spring , a young actor in the lead, yet to be cast, and F. Murray Abraham as Van Hesling, the lengendary Vampire hunter. The other set of producers is trying a Broadway production starring Oscar winner Javier Bardem as the Count.
Nothing has been decided yet, but the first group of producers, the ones with a more modest proposal, has been trying to get the production up and running by April, because, of course, they want to be part of the vampire hysteria. Their plan is to produce the show for about $500,000 at the Little Shubert and then carry on with a national tour in the fall.
Stay tunned!
Sade Returns After 10 Years With ‘Soldier Of Love’

“Soldier of Love” is only the sixth studio album the band Sade released during their 25 year career, and the first since “Lovers Rock” in 2000. For Sade herself, as the lynchpin of the group’s songwriting effort, it’s a simple matter of integrity and authenticity. “I only make records when I feel I have something to say. I’m not interested in releasing music just for the sake of selling something. Sade is not a brand.”
For most of the past 20 years, Sade has prioritised her personal life over her professional career, releasing only three studio albums of new material during that period. Her marriage to the Spanish film director Carlos Scola Pliego in 1989; the birth of her daughter in 1996 and her early 21st century move from North London to rural Gloucestershire, where she now lives with a new partner, have consumed much of her time and attention. And quite rightly so. “You can only grow as an artist as long as you allow yourself the time to grow as a person,” Sade says. “We’re all parents, our lives have all moved on. I couldn’t have made ‘Soldier of Love’ any time before now, and though it’s been a long wait for the fans – and I am sorry about that - I’m incredibly proud of it.”

Lady Gaga has thanked fans around the world after they helped her raise more than $500,000 or earthquake-ravaged Haiti - in a single day. The Poker Face singer dedicated January 24th to raising funds for the Caribbean country, pledging to donate proceeds from a New York concert and merchandise sold on her website.
At her concert on Tuesday at Purdue University, where she concluded the U.S. leg of her Monster Ball Tour, Lady Gaga announced the results of her fans’ donations.
She told the audience, “On Gaga For Haiti day, in just 24 hours, with very minimal marketing and planning, all the little monsters all over the world made over half a million dollars for Haiti relief. I know Bravado fell off their chair, that’s who sells all my merchandise - they couldn’t believe it! So let’s sing along for Haiti right now!”

Busy touring away in Europe, John Mayer hit the stage at HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London, England on Monday night (January 18).
The “Gravity” singer churned out all of the hits for a packed crowd, now heading off to Wolverhampton for a gig on Tuesday night before heading back to the States.
Prior to his HMV Hammersmith Apollo Show, John was busy doing his part for the Haiti relief effort.
He tweeted, “Just recorded my song for CNN’s “Haiti: How You Can Help” special, tonight at 8pm EST. Made with lots of love and hope.”
Joking around, Mayer later chimed in on “American Idol,” tweeting, “I’m not saying I don’t like watching Idol auditions, I just have to watch 30 minutes of Marvin Gaye live videos directly after.”

Glee star Matthew Morrison — known to Gleeks everywhere as Will Schuester, the adorable and optimistic leader of McKinley High’s show choir — has officially graduated to the big-time with a record deal.
Morrison, who signed to Mercury Records, will soon head into the recording studio to begin production of his debut album, which is scheduled for release in the fall — just in time for season 2 of FOX’s hit musical comedy.
Morrison’s rising star is burning even brighter since his nomination for a Golden Globe for his role as Will.
Before Glee, Morrison, 31, showed off his acting and singing chops in the Broadway musicals Hairspray, The Light in the Piazza, for which he was nominated for a Tony, and the revival of South Pacific at the Lincoln Center Theater in New York.
Russell Brand and Katy Perry Are Engaged

Talk about musical comedy: comedian Russell Brand and singer Katy Perry are engaged, his rep confirmed Wednesday.
Rumors to that effect began circulating over the holidays, and became especially loud Tuesday night. Perry, 25, Tweeted around 1 a.m. New York time from Thailand on Wednesday an oblique reference to an Alanis Morrisette song: “So when do I start walking the streets naked singing that Alanis song?”
Morrisette’s lines in “Thank You” include: “How about me just enjoying the moment for once” and “Thank you India” (where the couple vacationed recently).
For his part, Brand, 34, was quoted in Wednesday’s editions of Britain’s Sun tabloid as texting, “It’s true. Much love.”
The couple, who’ve been dating since the fall, have been nearly inseparable since hooking up. But that there were rumors of nuptials wasn’t surprising: Brand hinted earlier this month that he foresaw having kids with the singer, famous for her over-the-top fruit-themed props.
On the domestic front, Perry has already introduced the comedian to her religious parents, and once showed off a pair of undies embroidered with the colors of his favorite soccer team, West Ham United.
Rockers Lifehouse Try Something New With “Mirrors”

Just like clockwork, since its 2000 debut, “No Name Face,” rock band Lifehouse has cranked out a studio album every two to two-and-a-half years, and each has peaked in the top 15 of the U.S. pop chart.
Longtime manager Jude Cole, who also produced 2007’s “Who We Are” and the upcoming album “Smoke and Mirrors,” credits the group’s success to its being a “real” band, with no lip-synching or tapes behind its live performances.
“There’s no trickery going on anywhere,” Cole says. “The strategy has really been, ‘How do we keep this fresh and not repeat ourselves?’”
To keep the sound new on “Smoke and Mirrors,” out mid-February on Geffen, frontman Jason Wade shared songwriting duties on almost every track, incorporating ideas from Cole, Richard Marx, Kevin Rudolf and Chris Daughtry, who also sings on the song “Had Enough.”
“I just felt it was necessary to get a different vantage point,” Wade says. “I’ve been writing songs since I was 15, and usually I use my own personal experiences and life situations as kind of a canvas, and there are certain times where there’s not a lot of turbulence in your life. I felt like I needed to get inspiration elsewhere.”
The outside inspiration led to the album’s first single, “Halfway Gone,” which was co-written with Rudolf. “A good year and four months into making the record, we didn’t feel like we had that lead-off single,” Wade says, noting that Cole was a big fan of “Let It Rock,” Rudolf’s track with Lil Wayne. “We wanted to experiment sonically and just come up with a fresh sound for Lifehouse, and Kevin really added that. He added this really modern edge to what we do.”
Another change of pace for “Smoke and Mirrors” was that Lifehouse recorded it between tour dates, whereas in the past, it was more common for the band to complete a full touring cycle and then take a year off to make an album. “I’d say a good six years out of the 10 years we’ve been a band has been out on the road,” Wade says. “The process was a little bit different for us in that we would record Monday through Friday and fly out to do a gig over the weekend. So we basically never got off the road.”
Cole says the chemistry from constantly being on tour carried into the studio and the first few songs that were recorded, among them “Nerve Damage” and “Wrecking Ball.” They embodied the edgier sound of the band’s live show, while the rest of the tracks were planned more with radio in mind.
The Malibu, California-based group has had plenty of radio success in the past, most notably with its 2001 hit “Hanging by a Moment,” which spent 55 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 (and was named that chart’s song of the year for 2001), and 2005’s “You and Me,” which spent 30 weeks on the chart.
“We had taken a little bit of time off (from recording), and when we went back into the studio — I think because they weren’t coming fresh off the road — it was more like, ‘I’m kind of in the mood to write something that’s radio-worthy,” Cole says.
Lenny Kravitz Denies Leaking Jackson Collaboration

Lenny Kravitz has taken to Twitter to “set the record straight” about a leaked version of Michael Jackson’s “Another Day,” a song the rocker recorded with the late King of Pop.
Kravitz posted a video of himself sitting among trees and telling fans that the version of “Another Day” which surfaced online Sunday night was not leaked by him.
“Mine has been locked up in a vault since we recorded it,” he says. “The version that’s out is a minute and 30 seconds, roughly, of the track — not mixed, but it is the track. The DJ who’s speaking over the track, I don’t know who that person is, I don’t know how he obtained it…but that person has nothing to do with the track.”
Of his collaboration with Jackson, Kravitz says, “I produced it for him; I wrote the song and played all the instruments for him on the track. It was one of the most amazing musical experiences I’ve ever had. It was done by two people who respect each other and who love music.”
Meanwhile, new leaks of “Another Day” continue to pop up online as Jackson’s label tries to shut them down. For his part, Kravitz says he wants the final and complete version of the song to see the light of day.
“I’d like to see this thing get straightened out as soon as possible,” Kravitz says, “because I’d like for you — the fans, the people who love Michael — to hear the track in its entirety the way it was meant to be…so that’s all being worked out, as I sit here in the bush. I’ll get back to you as soon as I have more information.”
Lady GaGa to Make Las Vegas Her Home???

Lady GaGa has been offered residency at a famed casino on the glitzy Las Vegas strip.
According to Sunday’s Daily Star, George Maloof, who owns The Palms Casino Resort, was “blown away” when the saucy “Poker Face” sensation performed at the popular Sin City destination last month.
Gaga sold out two shows in the desert metropolis in December and the gushing Maloof is ready to offer the pop star from New York City a multimillion dollar deal to become a star at The Palms. In fact, the wealthy playboy would love to have the singer become the headlining nightly act at the establishment. Millionaire Maloof describes the 23-year-old former stripper as a “perfect fit” for the casino and was impressed when she refused to join him at one of his nightclubs.
“She was just so professional,” Maloof told The Daily Star Sunday. “She’s not a partier. That was really refreshing,” he added. “She’s dedicated to being the top artist in the world.”
